New Round of Polio Vaccination Against Type 2 Strain Now Being Rolled Out by DOH

Scola was not a happy camper after his vaccination.
While everyone has been clamoring about the Novel Corona Virus (2019 ncoV outbreak), there have been other viruses and sicknesses that have been lurking around us. Just recently, another case of Polio has been reported at Batasan Hills, Quezon City. This is the first case in Metro Manila and it's the Type 2 Strain. To date, there have been 16 cases of polio since last year. As such the Department of Health (DOH) actually started a new round of vaccination scheduled January 27 to February 8, 2020.

Please do not forget to vaccinate your kids against polio. The disease may cause paralysis and can even be fatal. It also has no cure but can easily be prevented with multiple doses of vaccination. Seek consultation from your Barangay Health Center, Doctor, or hospital on vaccination schedules. And don't worry, it is totally free.

We ourselves had Scola vaccinated just today (February 4, 2020) at St Luke's Medical Center at E. Rodriguez, Quezon City. There was no line and we were done in less than five minutes. You can find the Polio vaccine schedule for St. Luke's below:
